The Ice Islands received a large update with the town of Senja receiving a large flat to the south. Just to the southeast of this was a house which had previously been a single-story unit, but with this update became a rentable flat with a basement. The empty shop in town now became a furniture story staffed by NPC Vera. Outside the city was a new guild hall called Senja Clanhall which had 10 beds and spanned two floors up and one down. Nearly all the rooms had a stove as all the buildings on the island had, and one of the upper floors had a large red carpet and library. The layout of the building was a little awkward with the room design, but it was the only guild hall in the area.
To the far northeast of the island was a new massive castle that sprung up called Alawar's castle. This castle had two large levels which turned into a small tower that rose two more floors. A staircase leading down led into a huge room with different kinds of fields on the floor and a room to the north which had magic walls blocking the way. Under a firefield to the far west was a switch which would drop the magic walls if pulled and disappear itself. This would allow access to the north room which had a teleport. Entering the blue portal led to a large vault room which had "treasures" in locked rooms that even a Rookstayer would turn their nose up at. You would appear behind two closed doors which had two chests for you to loot. Inside them was three White Pearls and a Broadsword. Outside the room was some Minos and a Mino Mage which could only attack you if you opened the door which was locked. Heading back into the teleporter transported you to the top of the castle on the roof so you could make your escape.
Folda by far received the largest update in the area with a massive increase to the underground dungeon. CIP had listened to players laments about the lack of hunting spots on the islands, and with this update they would no longer have cause to complain as the huge dungeon now spanned three floors which offered many spots for multiple players to hunt. On its lowest level was a lava area which had a single path walkway where the new Fire Elemental spawned. The place was a huge maze which had tons of interesting rooms and a large variety of monsters to hunt. Many Orcs and Minos could be found here as well as plenty of basic creatures and some ice area exclusive monsters like the Frost Troll. There were several pickable spots which led to a hidden area on the floor below so there was plenty to discover.
Players would come across one other surprise in their exploration of the expanded area as one spot let to a small underground lake which had a ladder leading to the surface. Above, was a small island with a large rocky cave which had plenty of Polar Bears to hunt. This island didn't previously exist so it would be quite a surprise to find it.
Those who received the lousy rewards from the Alawar quest might be discouraged from exploring further but this area had one more secret. Players could look for key 4503 located in the Folda dungeon and use it to open a locked room there. If you picked one of the tiles under some fire fields a hole would reveal itself. Jumping in would drop you two floors and you would not be able to return until you completed the quest.
Most of what you found in this new area was minos of different kinds, but other creatures existed. You would first need to find key 4501 which was guarded by minos to the east. The last key was 4502 and it could be found further east in a huge spiral room which you had to travel clockwise in a spiral until finding a room in the middle with a Mino Mage and some Minos.
Key 4501 would allow you to access the storage room which you could loot a Dark Helmet, 4 Throwing Knives, Blank Rune, and 33gp. None of these were anything great but for a low-level player it was still nice to find something. Alawar's Vault door that you couldn't open before could be opened with Key 4502, allowing you access to the teleporter. You could now use this key to hunt this area without having to leave Senja, providing a reasonable hunting spot that was a little more secure than other areas.
