Alatar — the sage was a famous player and career sorcerer, and Alatar's Tibia webpage was a site devoted to his efforts in the pursuit of magic. The site, launched approximately August 15th, 1998, offering compressive guides and information for the sorcerer class with a particularly in-depth guide to your first steps towards becoming a mage.
The mage himself was also one of the best graphics designer Tibia had ever seen and produced some of Tibia's most iconic items like the Dragon Shield, Golden Armor, Map, Poison Dagger, Brass set, Tower Shield, Magic Sword, Ice Rapier, Knight set, and so much more. These items were so iconic and wonderful that many of them seamlessly fit into Tibia's sleek professional style graphics 20 years later.
There was also a detailed list of spells and what their effects were, and some screenshots of his exploits. He mentored up to 5 apprentices to train and protect, offering help and assistance to those who pursued magic. You had to be at least level 7 to join and went through a lengthy process of apprenticeship before becoming a master. The ranks of his organization were based upon mage milestones like magic level 30, ect. The site stopped updating on June 21st, 1999.
