Brotherhood of Alioth (BoA)

Aureus founded the Brotherhood of Alioth (BoA) in October of 1998. The guild was designed around roleplaying a fun and chivalrous character, obeying 9 rules which would keep players on the right path. Players of this guild should be brave, truthful, gentle, faithful, and fearless. Acting honorably towards woman was particularly encouraged as well avoiding negative activities like PKing and thieving. Strangely the guild was styled as a natural guild were even evil characters could join, though this would seem to conflict with the set-out rules. If you were interested in joining you had be at least level 8 before contacting the elders to ask to join, providing your roleplay story.

The guild was an English guild, so players were encouraged to use this language to communicate which was a rarity in the mainly German game. Players were not allowed to join other guilds while in this one unless they were one of the knowledge-based guilds like the RSST or Loremasters. The focus of the guild was towards helping fellow guildmembers as well as new players. Players who joined could expect a fun guild which organized hunts, games, quests, parties, and which mentored young players, providing their first friendships.

As with most guilds, the BoA went through short periods of inactivity, reviving for brief moments before going inactive again. The last known update on the guild's activity was September 27th, 1999.

The ranks of the guild were the king as leader followed by the council which made up the elders. Those who first joined would be called a Rookie of Alioth and those who made it to full member were likely called Brothers of Alioth (maybe Sisters if you were female). Those who were inactive for 2 weeks and unresponsive to email enquiry, were cut from the guild.
