The rain poured down hard outside of the depot in the town of Thais, as i stood at the deposit box, a friend of mine stepped up to the one near me, his name was Elwe Nightshade. We spoke for a few minutes, and showed each other the valuables we found throughout our journeys. Then he took out a flute, and told me he found it in a dungeon beneath the town of Fibula.
I was astonished that he had such an item, and i asked what he was planning to do with it. He told me that he was going to keep it, that it was far too rare to just give it back to Dermot. But then we started to talk some more about it, we both wondered what Dermot would reward the flute-bearer with. After hours of coaxing, he finally decided to see what he would get for it, and asked me to come along with him. I was glad to accompany Elwe, and we set out right away through Thais to the town of Fibula.
We walked on and on, mile after mile. Until we were attacked by a group of minotaurs. Elwe laughed and fired three arrows at blinding speeds, each of the attacking minotaurs fell. The others fled. We came to the southwestern end of the main isle, Elwe began digging around with a shovel, uncovering a hole, we both leapt into it. Onward we walked, through the underground, deeper and deeper. Crossing past pools of lava and fallen heroes, their corpses rotting with a foul stench. There was little conversation as we marched through the grim atmosphere of the underground.
At the end, we came to a final ladder, leading to the small isle known as Fibula. As soon as we exited, a pack of wolves began attacking us. Elwe let loose another barrage of arrows, flying like streaks of lightning, the arrows pierced one wolf after another, until all were dead. "Onward!" Elwe shouted to me, and we moved close to the city.
At nightfall the rain finally let up, and we walked into Dermot's house, he was not happy that we tracked in mud and water all over his nice floor. His expression soon changed as Elwe drew forth his missing flute. Dermot grinned and told Elwe that he did a good job retrieving the flute, and Elwe was rewarded with a precious gift. Dermot thanked him and asked us both to leave, but Elwe was angered, the gift he was given was not precious at all, in fact, Elwe and I both had the reward sitting in our depots. He turned to me and grinned, then let started to fire runes at Dermot.
Dermot yelped and tried to run, but he was boxed in by his own greed. Treasure chests made it impossible for him to escape from behind his desk, and soon we were both shooting fire fields at him. Though he didn't die, and Elwe was even more displeased. He told me it was time to head back, and that he wanted me to come with him. Onward we marched, through the dark and muddy night, though our adventures were just beginning.
Dedicated to Elwe Nightshade, a great friend, one who was there for me time and time again. You are not forgotten, nor are the adventures you've had with so many.
And just what was the item that Elwe received from Dermot? Well, that I'll leave for you to find out on your own.
